Introducing the gorgeous Kathy and Euan.

I photographed their July Winter wedding recently and it was so much fun! Kathy and Euan really are the sweetest couple and made me feel like an old friend. So relaxed, so ready to laugh - a wedding photographers dream!

Lots more couples are looking at the option of having a Winter wedding and personally I love them.

I love the beauty of bare trees and the subdued colours of the season. I feel the light’s a little softer than the harsh summer sun too.

And lets be honest - the weather here in Wellington is never predictable and I’ve seen major storms roll in unannounced during the summer months, sending guests and bridal parties running for cover.

In Winter you expect that it’s going to be miserable so you have back up plans and indoor options. Roaring fires, candles, mulled wine and warm blankets for any chills. Sounds romantic right??

And the reality is that we have some spectacular blue sky, calm days over Winter.

For Kathy and Euan the rain did make an appearance but because we had a wet weather plan it wasn’t a problem at all.
