Tail of 20 Cities

This is my city.  Wellington, New Zealand.  I’m participating in Rover.com’s Tail of 20 Cities  along with 19 other photographers from around the world. Check out all of the photographs here <Tail of Twenty Cities Photo Journey (https://www.rover.com/blog/tail-of-20-cities/)

My cats when asked, were not keen for a photography session around Wellington, but I was lucky to get to photograph the gorgeous Blue Heeler pup Ruby for this project.

The first place that always comes to mind for me when I think of Wellington is Oriental Parade. I’ve always loved strolling along the promenade, I find it so relaxing. I love watching all the different dogs on their daily walks,  children on bikes,  joggers and pace walkers,  tourists and locals - all drinking in the glorious views back to the city across the harbour.

I love chilling out on a bench seat with my feet on the seawall eating gelato in summer or drinking a latte in winter. I love seeing the lights on the Norfolk pines twinkling at night and watching the Carter Fountain come to life in the harbour spraying great plumes of water.

I love Oriental Parade on a still warm day or seeing the harbour churn and boil during gale force winds.

To me Oriental Parade is Wellington summed up in one street.
